1st IO Command (Land) is the Army’s only active duty IO unit.  It is a multi-component unit with an integrated U.S. Army Reserve Element.  The command consists of a Brigade Headquarters and two subordinate IO battalions, each with both active duty and Army Reserve detachments.

The 1st IO Battalion provides analytical, planning, assessment, and training support to Army and Joint forces worldwide through expeditionary IO Field Support Teams (FSTs), CONUS-based cross-functional teams, social media teams, and IO mission readiness exercises.

2d IO Battalion deploys multi-functional Information Warfare (IW) teams worldwide to assess, aggress, train and provide operational support to the Department of Defense and the US Military in order to improve readiness and provide freedom of action in the information environment and deny the same to our adversaries.

Stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, 1st IO Command is under the operational control of U.S. Army Cyber and the administrative control of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).  The Command's Army Reserve Element falls under the administrative control of the 335th Signal Command.
