Ft Belvoir Base Information

 

Tulley Gate is Now Fort Belvoir's 24-Hour Gate


Tulley Gate has returned to 24/7 operation, becoming the post's Main Gate. Visitors who wish to enter Fort Belvoir and do not have a Department of Defense identification card must use Tulley Gate from 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. seven days a week. Drivers must provide a valid state driver's license and all occupants must provide photo identification. Commercial traffic is only allowed access via Tulley Gate. Access for those with DOD ID include:

  • Farrar Gate: 24-Hour (7 Days per Week)
  • Kingman Gate: 0500-2100 (7 Days per Week)
  • Pence Gate: 0500-2100 (Mon-Fri), 0900-1700 (Sat-Sun)
  • Telegraph Gate: 0600-1800 (Mon-Fri)
  • Walker Gate: 0500-2100 (Mon-Fri)

Fort Belvoir Ceases Use of DoD Decals/Vehicle Registration


Fort Belvoir has no requirement for DoD decals/vehicle registration. Holders of DoD-issued ID cards will be able to enter post at any open gate. Vehicle owners will not be required to remove current decals. Once they expire, they should be removed.

Driving Directions to Fort Belvoir


From Washington DC (I-95 South)

  • If you are traveling south on I-95, take exit 166A for VA 286 S, Fairfax Co Pkwy/Newington/Ft Belvoir.
  • Take the Fairfax County Parkway to its end at U.S. 1 (Richmond Highway).
  • Turn left.
  • At the first light, on the right, is the entrance for Tulley Gate on to Fort Belvoir.
  • This is the visitor entrance to the post and is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., 7 days a week.

From Richmond (I-95 North)

  • If you are traveling north on I-95, take exit 161 for U.S. 1 N/Richmond Hwy, Ft Belvoir/Mt Vernon.
  • You will travel five miles to Fort Belvoir.
  • Continue through the light at the Fairfax County Parkway (VA 286). At the next stop light, on the right side you will see the entrance for Tulley Gate, turn right.
