1st IO provides forces to
synchronize information capabilities and prepare forces to resist adversary information warfare while providing operations security and specialized IO training to enable Army and Joint forces to achieve information advantage. (approved 1 Oct 21) |
1st IO Command (Land) is the Army's only active duty IO unit.
It is a multi-component unit with an integrated U.S. Army Reserve Element.
The command consists of a Brigade Headquarters and two subordinate IO battalions,
each with both active duty and Army Reserve detachments.
Stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, 1st IO Command is assigned to U.S. Army Cyber. The Command's Army Reserve Element falls under the administrative control of the 335th Signal Command. |
